Custom Hardware

Looking for custom phantoms? Custom is a large part of what we do. We are accustomed to making big or small modifications to our standard phantoms, and we can completely build a phantom from scratch based on your needs. We have made the process for designing and building custom phantoms very quick and simple. After a brief meeting with our team, we’ll send you a design for your review. We can then iterate as many times as necessary to reach a final design that will meet your specific needs. After approval, turn-around time to shipping a custom phantom is typically within two weeks after a design is approved.

Examples of Custom Work

Small Lesion Breast Insert Phantom

Picture

The PET phantom to the left is custom made. Designed to be placed within a breast phantom, this insert allows for the investigation of detection limits via PET & SPECT imaging.

This phantom features a single fluid path connecting twelve small spherical voids that are separated into three identical chains. The chains are arranged in an equilateral triangle. The inlet and outlet ports were tapped to allow for the addition of Luer Lock fittings for easy filling.

Combined and Modular Phantoms

The PET and SPECT phantom to the right is an example of a modular phantom that combines three types of phantoms into a single scan: A uniformity phantom with two separate fillabe regions (similar to a NEMA standard phantom), a Derenzo style resolution phantom (with our patented linear filling technology), and a small contrast recovery phantom with four different sphere sizes.

Custom Tanks

The tanks to the left were custom built to precisely fit into clinical brain PET scanners to assess uniformity and scatter. The fillable sphere insert was also custom designed and built to assess contrast recovery/partial volume correction and resolution.
