Resolution (Derenzo) PhantomsWe have several different Derenzo patterns for preclinical PET and SPECT applications. Each one features our patented linear flow technology (Patent US9625584B1) that makes filling a breeze, and reduces the amount of radiation required to fill the hole pattern. This results in a safer phantom that produces higher quality images. We have several standard hole patterns with holes ranging from 0.7 mm to 2.5 mm. We can also create custom patterns if the standard options do not quite fit your individual needs.

Uniformity PhantomsPhantech’s uniformity phantoms are designed to perform quality control and calibration on field uniformity, normalization and quantification calibration scans in nuclear medicine. They are constructed to ensure a perfectly homogenous concentration by minimizing air bubbles and preventing sticking to the interior surface. Configured in two sizes to simulate typical rodent sizes (ie. mice and rats), these uniformity phantoms will allow one to customize protocols and calibrations in order to yield the highest quantitative accuracy for each scanning condition. Each configuration incorporates several design features that will make the job easier, including two o-ring sealed openings (large one for filling milliliters and a smaller one for filling microliters), a bubble trap to ensure that any bubbles will not be in the uniformity region, and nested fasteners to maintain a uniform diameter across the phantom.

Partial Volume Correction (PVC)Designed for contrast recovery of small lesions for preclinical PET and SPECT imaging systems, our PVC phantoms are designed with one continuous channel connecting numerous precise spherical or ellipsoidal volumes, these PVC phantoms allow for the easy and automated generation of a recovery coefficient (RC)-based PVC curve. Our PVC phantoms are available in two sizes, including one with a diameter of 34 mm to fit very small bore sizes. Additionally, each PVC phantom features a separate fillable "warm" region to simulate background tissues.

NEMA StandardsPhantech has economical phantoms that adhere to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards. Assembled with three main pieces and associated hardware, these standard NEMA phantoms are available in two configurations: NEMA NU4-2008 (NU4IQ) and SPECT-IQ (as detailed in E.P. Visser et al. 2011, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A). These standard phantoms feature three fillable regions that allow the assessment of PET or SPECT scanner image quality (IQ) by representing typical hot, cold and uniform radioactivity in an animal.

Custom HardwareNeed a custom phantom? Contact us today to discuss your project at no cost up front. You will not be charged unless we both decide to move forward with a project and only if we determine it is something that we can do. Custom work could be as minor as wanting one of our other phantoms in a different size or pattern, or could be as major as needing something entirely new. Either way, we are happy to work with you to make your project a reality, and offer very competitive pricing for custom work.

Business to Business SolutionsAre you a manufacturer of preclinical or clinical medical imaging systems? If so, we want to work with you to create a custom set of phantoms that are specific to your system and your calibration protocols that you can transfer directly to your customers. Let us take the work of developing phantoms off your plate. We are willing to co-brand any products and will work directly with you at every stage of the process. The phantoms can be a selection of our commercially available products or completely custom to you.
