Mouse/Rat NECR Scatter Phantoms

Phantech offers mouse and rat scatter phantoms that are composed of tissue-equivalent scattering material (High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)). These scatter phantoms will allow you to characterize the performance of your scanner according to the NEMA NU4 2008 Section 4 “Scatter Fraction, Count Losses and Random Coincidence Measurements," allowing the measurement of the Noise Equivalent Count Rate (NECR). With the scatter phantoms, you will learn valuable information to make the best use of your PET scanner such as the peak injected activity beyond which noise will increase more rapidly than the signal itself. For PET system manufacturers, you will be able to use the scatter phantom to optimize count rate performance, scatter fraction and compare with other systems in the market.
