Only Phantech offers this patented clinical linearly-filled hot rod derenzo that can be quickly filled with no air bubbles, and reduces the fill volume by >8x to reduce radiation exposure, scan time (to achieve the same SNR), and overall costs, while resulting in higher image quality datasets that are not compromised by out-of-plane noise. A standard syringe is attached to the inlet and the fluid is pushed through a single fluid path filling each rod to create the hot rod derenzo pattern. To see how it works, click here. Phantech offers a standard version of the linearly-filled phantom (3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, and 6 mm rod diameters). It can be purchased separately or in combination with the Jaszczak-Style Uniformity/Partial Volume Correction Phantom to form a full Jaszczak Phantom with both hot and cold sphere inserts.
While the linear filling scheme doesn't work for very large rods, we also offer Jasczak inserts in larger rod sizes, including the six standard NEMA rod diameters (4.8, 6.4, 7.9, 9.5, 11.1, and 12.7 mm). Additional Information
"Derenzo" phantoms are used to characterize an imaging system's resolution by measuring the FWHM of hole patterns with varying diameters and spacing. Holes within a size group are spaced at exactly 2D (twice the diameter) apart. Derenzo phantoms feature six different hole sizes arranged in triangles around the center of phantom. Phantech's Derenzo phantoms feature two Luer Lock fittings as the inlet and outlet of the linear fluid path. To fill, simply attach two syringes, one full of radioactivity and the other empty, to the two ports. As you slowly insert the fluid, the fluid will fill each consecutive rod one at a time, ensuring even filling. When fluid reaches the empty syringe, the phantom pattern is full. To empty the phantom, simply reverse the process with an air-filled syringe. Our clinical Derenzo phantoms are available in a several sizes listed in the table above!
